ARIES four-shaft shredder: two-stage shredding in a single machine
The ARIES four-shaft shredder uses a two-stage shredding process, in which material passes through two consecutive twin-shaft shredding chambers. This arrangement allows the material to be reduced in size gradually, provides better control over the shredding process and helps achieve a more uniform output. With independent drives for each shaft, robust construction and the ability to tailor the cutting tool configuration to individual applications, the ARIES is suitable for processing a wide range of industrial waste materials. In this article, we explain how the shredder works, its design and technical specifications, as well as the factors that influence the quality of the shredded material and determine the most suitable machine configuration for a particular application.

Shredding cardboard boxes: brand protection and preparing cardboard for recycling
Cardboard crates carrying the logo of a manufacturer or trading partner may not always be suitable for recycling in their original form. In this application, we were asked to provide a solution for processing approximately 400 kg of branded cardboard crates per week, ensuring that the packaging would be reliably destroyed while also preparing the material for further recovery. The proposed solution consists of a 15 kW PICUS single-shaft shredder, which shreds the cardboard to a particle size of approximately 10 mm or less, followed by pneumatic conveying and a cyclone. The resulting shredded cardboard can then be sent directly for recycling or further compacted by briquetting.
